Vine and Dine -Stellenbosch / Paarl / Franschoek

With over 220 wine estates and as many restaurants, this area has much to offer. Leaving from the city, in our air-conditioned minibus, we travel on the coastal route via Muizenberg, arriving at Spier Wine Estate, to see the magnicently restored homestead. Here we can view tame Cheetahs, taste wine or simply enjoy the tranquility of the Eerste river. An alternative for wine lovers is to do a cellar tour and wine tasting at another Estate in the vicinity (let us know before hand as cellar tours need to be booked). We continue our journey through the oak-lined streets of Stellenbosch, discovering its history as we make our way toward the Franschoek area in time for lunch.   Vine and Dine

A favorite lunch stop is for the gourmet buffet offered at Boschendal, but Franschoek is known for its restaurants and has a superb choice. Due to the areas popularity, bookings are essential and we are able to advise you and book on your behalf. The town of Franschoek was named after the French Huguenots who settled here in the late 1600’s, escaping religious persecution in France. The French influence still evident in the names and culinary/wine making skills found here.

After a brief stroll down the Main Street, we head toward Paarl. En route we pass the prison that Nelson Mandela was freed from in 1990, and enjoy the scenery of the fruit farms in this area. The town of Paarl is set at the foot of the Paarl Rock, the second largest piece of exposed granite in the world, and is home to many wine estates. We visit one more estate, before driving up to the Afrikaans Language monument to enjoy the views back to Cape Town.

From here we travel back to the City and as farmlands give way to residential areas, we are treated to further views of Table Mountain before disembarking at your hotel.
