Gardens Galore
| Famous gardens of the Cape:Cape Town was settled by Europeans in the 1600's for the primary purpose of planting a garden to supply passing ships with vegetables. A combination of unique natural resources, the merging of African, Dutch, English, French and Eastern cultures have given rise to some interesting garden styles. Depending on the time of year and your preferences, we will tailor make a tour best suited.

Typically a garden tour will take between two to five days and will include some of the following highlights:
Companies Garden in the City - the original vegetable garden laid out by the Dutch; Kirstenbosch - a world heritage site; Hortus Botanicus - Stellenbosch University Botanical Garden; Karoo Desert Garden in Worcester; Vergelegen Estate near Somerset West; Sheilam and Soekershof Cacti and succulent gardens outside Robertson; The formal gardens of Rustenberg Estate; Harold Porter Botanical Gardens and a selection of private gardens under construction, just to see how its done. For the more adventurous, we add on a hike up Table Mountain or a walk through the forests on the slopes. Our choice of hotels with fine gardens are the Mount Nelson, The Hohenort and the Vineyard Hotel. If you don't want to stay over then we can just pop in for tea. So contact us and we will put something together for you to suit your needs.
